Volunteer Opportunities in Reno, NV

  • Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality (RISE) - On three Saturdays a month, this group operates a free market and serves home cooked meals to people in need.  
    • Donated clothing and personal hygiene products are distributed at the free market
    • Meals are prepared by volunteers in their home kitchens, then transported to the event site where it is served.

  • Students at Reno's ACE High School construct tiny homes.
  • Students at Berkeley's Realm Charter School construct tiny home for donation to transitional housing community in Eugene, Oregon.​

  • ​Can Reno revive downtown this year?  - One of the problems facing Reno's downtown revitalzation efforts is what to do with the numerous rundown weekly motels than some consider blight that ought to be razed.  Nearly 3,200 seniors, veterans, families and children live in these weekly motels.  Eliminating them without an alternative would put thousands of people on the street.

  • Awaken Reno - A local organization working to end sex trafficking in our community. Their mission is to increase awareness and education surrounding the issue of commercial sexual exploitation and to provide housing and restoration for its victims.
